FLEXITY E-Class Tram for Melbourne
FLEXITY E-Class tram are "Made in Melbourne for Melbourne” with 50%+ Local Content achieved. Melbourne’s tram network is a famous and iconic symbol of the city and one of the largest tram networks in the world. Bombardier is supplying 70 new FLEXITY low floor vehicles that were specially designed for excellent performance in Melbourne's climate and operate on its existing rail infrastructure.
VLocity DMU train
VLocity Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) trains are “Made in Victoria for Victoria” with 66.5% Local Content achieved. Serving the State of Victoria since 2005, VLocity DMU trains offer passengers a quick, comfortable and proven mobility solution. Built locally in Dandenong, these trains operate at a maximum speed of 160 km/h, and were designed to address emerging passenger trends, safety standards and performance requirements. The VLocity DMUs maintain a high rate of availability, which ensures highly efficient rail service.
Queensland New Generation Rollingstock trains
Bombardier is building the Queensland New Generation Rollingstock (NGR) PPP Project for Queensland Rail (QR). 75 new electrical multiple unit (EMU) trains will operate across the entire South East Queensland rail network, which covers more than 800 km. All commuters will experience increased availability, capacity, comfort and safety including enhanced security, wifi, air conditioning and accessible toilet facilities. The project includes a custom built maintenance facility in Wulkuraka, Ipswich to service the EMU’s over the next 30+ years.
Adelaide A-City Electrical Multiple Unit (EMU) trains
Adelaide A-City Electrical Multiple Unit (EMU) trains were built in Victoria for South Australia with 68%+ Local Content achieved. Bombardier is also providing full fleet maintenance of 70 DMU cars, 22 x 3 Adelaide A-City EMUs, as well as cleaning and facility maintenance. Bombardier designed and performed a midlife refurbishment of the passenger environment, including a digital communications system. These rail cars are mature, and, despite obsolescence challenges, reliability has more than doubled since the start of our contract in 2005.

Wulkuraka Community Open Day (QNGR Project)
Bombardier officially opened the new purpose-built rail maintenance facility in Wulkuraka, Ipswich, on February 13, 2016, as part of the Queensland New Generation Rollingstock (NGR) PPP Project. The occasion was marked by a Community Open Day where local residents were invited to take a look inside the new facility.

Bombardier was a platinum sponsor and key contributor at this years SMART Manufacturing Showcase in Dandenong, South East Melbourne. SMART Manufacturing 16 is a vibrant industry showcase that presents and promotes Dandenong and South East Melbourne as the largest and most innovative MANUFACTURING ZONE in Australia. With both the VLocity DMU regional train and FLEXITY E-Class tram built and only display in Dandenong, it is clear that manufacturing in this zone is still alive and well.
